Flock O' Friends **Updated**

I am participating in the Blogging From A-Z Challenge. Each day in April (except the last 4 Sundays), I will post topic themes that begin with the letters of the alphabet, from A-Z. Today's letter is F.

*~*~*~*

What can I possibly say about my friends that would even begin to describe how lucky I am to know them?!?

I never had trouble making friends as a youngster, but we moved a lot & keeping friends wasn't always easy.  There are a few die-hards who still put up w/ my craziness & I love them for that!  Though we're all older & have families of our own or miles separating us, we manage to maintain contact, even if it's primarily on fb or other electronic means.  Despite the distance & changes in our lives, I'm unbelievably grateful to know them.

I also have a small, but important circle of internet friends.  Those are the folks I have met in person only a handful of times (or not at all), but who I talk to on a fairly regular basis.  This is a very tiny group, but my affection for them is anything but little.

As for everyone else: again, there is no measure to fully express my love & gratitude for their presence in my crazy world.  Not only did I have a little core group of my own, but my hubs expanded that group considerably & now there is no distinction between where his friends end & mine begin.  They're an eclectic mix of characters with such distinct personalities.  The common thread is that they're genuinely good & kind people, and FUNNY!!!

Since words really can't do justice to this unbelievable flock o' friends, I'm gonna share a couple of my favorite pictures instead.  Fair warning: I can't possibly fit every single person's mug on this one post, so don't be sad if you don't see yourself on here. It has absolutely nothing to do w/ my love for you, it's merely a space/time constraint issue. So unbunch those panties & be grateful the more embarrassing pics are safely filed away on Justin's hard drive!!

**Update: Speaking of internet-only friends, I would be remiss not to include a picture of the day I first met my friend Caroline in person. We had been internet friends for 8 years before we finally met in real life.

8 years in the making!

The might Preston & West just kinda chillin' in the background.

We call our group the Devil's 3-way. Our career never made it off the ground.

  1. I have that small network of internet friends whom II've never met but I talk with them everyday, and at this point feel closer than to friends I haven't talked to in years though whom have been part of my life forever. Maybe I should give them a call...:))

    1. Glad I could inspire you to make a phone call & reconnect! :) My internet friends aren't a large group, but they mean a lot to me & my life would be a heck of a lot more empty without them.

  2. When I talk about my internet friends, my 'real time' friends (who either don't have computers or who don't 'socialise' on the internet) look at me as if I'm crazy.

    1. I just updated this post to include a photo of one of my internet-only friends on the day we finally met in person. We met in an online mommies group, but stayed in touch after we both left the group. We've been friends since our babies were only 6 months old. (They're 9 now.) I never understood how anyone could have a bond w/ someone over the internet, but after getting to know Caroline, that changed my tune! :)
