Liebster Award

Thank you to Jolie Du Pre, who tagged me with the Liebster Award.  I follow some bloggers who have been given this award, but I'm a first-timer, so bear with me. :)

Here is a little rundown in case you're wondering what receiving the Liebster Award entails:

  • Thank the blogger who presented you with the Liebster Award, and link back to his or her blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions from the nominator; list 11 random facts about yourself, and create 11 questions for your nominees.
  • Present the Liebster Award to 11 bloggers, who have blogs with 200 followers or less, whom you feel deserve to be noticed.  Leave a comment on the blogs letting the owners know they have been chosen. (No tag backs.)
  • Upload the Liebster Award image to your blog.

Here are my answers to the 11 questions from Jolie Du Pre:

1. What is the top item on your bucket list?
-Write something worth publishing & then have it published.

2. What do some people do that bugs you the most?

-Smoke while pregnant. Drives me BONKERS!!

3. What do some people do that you love the most?

-Random acts of kindness, without a motive or need for recognition.

4. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?

-The list of things I wouldn't change is shorter! :)  I think my biggest flaw is lack of confidence, so if I could change anything, I would change my inner dialogue & be nicer to myself.

5. Do you believe in Astrology?

-To a degree, yes.  I know a lot of it is generalization, but there is also a lot of truth in it.

6. Do you believe in monsters?

-Not the boogieman type monsters, but I do believe in monsters who pass themselves off as human beings.  (Child abusers, pedophiles, etc.)

7. Who is your favorite male celebrity?

-Hmmm...probably Tom Hanks.  I've never heard any stories about him being rude or ungrateful.  He seems like a really down-to-Earth kind of guy.

8. Who is your favorite female celebrity?

     -Courtney Love.  I know, I know...bitch is CA-RA-ZAY!  I can't explain it; I'm just drawn to her.

9. Are you doing your dream job?

-Not even close.  My dream job would be some sort of social work with a nice little writing gig on the side.

10. What do you want people to say about you when you die?

-All I want for them to say is that I was a good person.  If someone wants to throw in a "coolest person I've ever known" or "wittiest little bastard in the world", that's okay too. :)

11. Do you want to live forever?

-Absolutely not!!  I'm perfectly content knowing that one day I'll be nothing but scattered ash & vague memories in a few select people's minds.  There is nothing at all that appeals to me about eternal life.

Here are 11 random facts about yours truly:

1.  I'm excited about getting gray hair.  I have a few behind my ear & one little guy growing by my forehead.  I call that one my little homey.

2.  I love drag queens!!!  I'm also a little ashamed that 99% of them look better as a woman than I do.

3.  My current favorite song is "My Mama's Broken Heart" by Miranda Lambert.  It's just so damn catchy!

4.  I'm a total cat person, but I married a dog person.  He's perfectly fine with us getting a cat.  Unfortunately, our dogs are not.

5.  I walk a pretty fine line between feeling like I do too much & feeling like a lazy piece of crap.  There is very little middle-ground in my mind.

6.  I worry too much about what others think of me.

7.  At the ripe old age of 32, I have developed some pretty intense hip pain.

8.  It's cliche, but when my husband wraps his arms around me & I wrap mine around him, one word runs through my head: "HOME".

9.  I love, love, love taking pictures, but my inferiority complex prevents me from doing it as much as I'd like.

10.  I don't respect my Mom as a person and sometimes wish I didn't know her, but I know my guilt would never allow that.  Also, I'd never forgive myself if she passed away & I was not there for her in the end.

11.  I wanted to spend the weekend in a cabin w/ 2 of our closest couple-friends for mine & my husband's 6th wedding anniversary, but we can't afford it. It's moments like these that I really hate being an adult w/ bills to pay.  I'd much rather play with my money.

  1. I absolutely loved reading this, and I can't believe your favorite female celebrity is Courtney Love. I just about fell out of my bed when I read it! (It's 6:45 a.m. here.) I f*cking LOVE Courtney Love. She is my favorite singer. Have you listened to "Live Through This" 9 million times? I have.

    1. AWESOME! Finally someone else who gets my love of Courtney!! :) Yes, I have listened to Live Through This at least 9 million times. Even though they weren't very good, I still bought her solo album & the last Hole album, just b/c I wanted to support her craziness.

  3. Thank you!

I am with you on loving Drag Queens - they are awesome! Have to applaud them, since they go thru a LOT more effort than I ever will to look good.

    1. I totally agree! Imagine what a pain it is to shave their stubble down enough that it doesn't show through their makeup!?! That in itself deserves a medal of some kind.

  5. Thank you!!!

I enjoyed reading this. And, you know what? I care what other people think about me, also. It seems as though others around me don't give a flip, and I just don't understand where that comes from? Furthermore, how can I get some of that? I'm middle aged! I'm supposed to be OVER all of this stuff! Clearly, however, I'm not.

You liked this response, right? Right? I mean, it was okay, wasn't it? LOLOLOL!!!

    1. I'm sooo with you on that one! If anyone ever bottles & sells some of that "I don't give a rip what you think" attitude, I'm buying boxes of it!!

And yes, I liked your response. :)
