Oregon, I love you

I am participating in the Blogging From A-Z Challenge. Each day in April (except the last 4 Sundays), I will post topic themes that begin with the letters of the alphabet, from A-Z. Today's letter is O.

~*~*~*~

I am an Oregonian through and through.  From my acclimation to rainy weather to my ridiculous love of the song "Ain't It Fresh" by Alcyon Massive. The back windshield of my van sports an Oregon-shaped sticker w/ a green heart in the middle & some day my body will be adorned w/ a tattoo to match.  I spent nearly 7 years in Arkansas during my teens, and although I cherish a lot of the memories & friendships I made down South, my home has always been & will always be The Beaver State.

In honor of my beloved home state, thanks to the ever-fascinating Pinterest, and due to my sleep-deprived brain's lack of coherent thought patterns, I'm going to share some of my favorite Oregon-inspired internet finds rather than trying to write about all the reasons why I love this place.

I didn't pin this one, but here is the link to the picture found on the SOPride website

    1. It's a beautiful state! Last summer we decided rather than going on a big summer vacation, we'd stick to nearby tourist attractions. It's surprising how many fun adventures can be had here! :)

  2. I have never been to Oregon, although I do think it's beautiful. I had wanted to go to college there, but out of state fees kept me here in California. I hope to make it there one day.

    1. We have a lot of California transplants here, especially in the Southern part of the state. I think I'm biased toward Oregon b/c I was born & raised here. (Minus the years in Arkansas, of course.)

  3. I love Oregon, too. We moved here 14 years ago and I don't ever want to live anywhere else. We lived in Portland for about 10 years and now live in Bend. I absolutely love Bend. Oregon is a beautiful state. So varied and breath-taking. Nice meeting you. :)

    1. I have a friend who lives in Bend & my husband has family in Redmond. We have a lot of friends & family in Portland. Have you seen the show Portlandia? It captures the essence of PDX pretty well. :)
