Tandem Trimming

I am participating in the Blogging From A-Z Challenge. Each day in April (except the last 4 Sundays), I will post topic themes that begin with the letters of the alphabet, from A-Z. Today's letter is T.

~*~*~*~

After months of saying we're gonna fix the treadmill & work out together, the hubs made it happen.  His treadmill is functional & sitting beside my elliptical in the garage.  Starting today (as soon as I finish this post, in fact), we're going to do a little tandem cardio.

We both want to lose 40 lbs.  The hubs is hoping to lose his in 170 days, which is the day we leave for Disneyland.  I'm hoping to lose about 20 or 25 by then, but I don't foresee myself being able to trim a whole 40 lbs in such a short amount of time.

Me & my hubs last Wed.
Starting out at 170 lbs & 260 lbs, respectively.
It was just a couple years ago that I lost 30 lbs simply from exercising & eating right.  After nearly 2 years of only sporadically (but mostly not at all) working out, I gained 20 lbs of that back.  I've been determined to get back on track & get in shape, but I haven't given it much effort beyond just really, really, really wishing I could do it.  Now that the hubs & I are set up to workout together, we're hoping we can not only motivate one another, but hold each other accountable.

I, like most people, say I'm going to get healthy, make all sorts of grand plans, then fall short over & over again.  But in spite of how many times I've fallen short, I keep trying & I won't stop trying until I get it right.  I've done it before & I can do it again.

So let's see how much weight Mr & Mrs Sams can lose in 170 days!!

  4. Good luck! My daughter and son-in-law were both overweight, and worked together to lose weight. They did too, and reached their target weights in just less than a year.
