Another year, another challenge

I am participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge.  Each day in April (except Sunday), I will post topic themes that begin with the letters of the alphabet, from A-Z.  Today's letter is A.

I barely survived last year's challenge, but I jumped at the opportunity to participate again this year.  I attribute this to a combination of slight masochism and a never-ending need to be involved in something.  I love hopping on my wee little blog & spewing out whatever pops into my head.  Trying to align that with the letters of the alphabet on corresponding days makes it interesting enough to keep me from getting bored and giving up after 2 days.

Random pic for my random post.
Take that!
Last year I posted about my roles as a wife, a mom, an aunt, and a daughter.  I wrote about my vagina and Jesus, and all manner of things in between.  There was no real cohesion, no pattern; just a series of posts about various things.  Expect more of the same this year.  Let's face it, y'all: I'm not motivated or talented enough to plan out 26 posts that relate to one another.

One lesson I did take away from last year's challenge was the beauty of preparation.  Pre-planning topics and even writing & scheduling posts ahead of time will make this whole month run much better.  I've scheduled 8 posts, and it's possible that I will use those "free" days to pre-write & schedule more.  Seriously, is there anything better than the scheduling feature on a blog?!  I think not!

Although it's going to be another year of my aimless yammering, I'd like to point out that I've taken care to avoid rehashing the same shit from 2012.  The only time you'll catch me referring back to the last challenge's topics will be as an update.

In closing, I'd also like to state that I have planned to get rolling drunk on my Dad's homemade apple pie moonshine one evening and post while schnockered.  Now that should be something worth reading!

Good luck, A-to-Zers and thanks for stopping by!!

  3. Schnockered? What a wonderful word... although I suspect the effects of being so will be less amazing and more hysterical :D

    1. It is a very wonderful word. And yes, as I get older, the day after is not quite so much fun. I think it will be worth it if my drunken writing is anywhere near as funny as I think I am in real life. :)

  4. Dammit! I thought that random stuff as a subject was a winner and original. Sadly it seems that you got there before me. Curses.

I'll be back tomorrow to steal ideas from you.

    Cheers,

    W.

(I'm doing EIGHT blogs. Whew. Three are already pre-published, and I'm working on posts on the remaining ones. April seems to fly!)

I read that aloud to my husband, who likely agrees with your assessment as it pertains to my own motivation.

I can't wait for your schnockered post.

    1. Glad to meet you, fellow masochist. *lol* It sounds to me like my schnockered post is going to be popular. I might need to write drunk more often.

  10. I don't know what I'd do without the schedule feature. If I don't have at least fifteen backup posts just laying there, I start to get panicky.

  11. Trish...I just finished the Slice of Life Challenge and am moving on to the A to Z Challenge...I have not planned a thing, but rather will be pulling topics out of the air (out of my rear...who knows!) I look forward to your ramblings and hope you'll stop by to read some of mine! Happy Blogging!

  12. That's a heck of a lot more fun than going to those organized hunts. There, the kids push and shove and make one want to put a foot in their bunny tail area. Yeah, evil one, make it harder next year! heh heh
